san antonio

my hubby had a week off in june. we were going to head back east, then his vacation days got cut short. I asked myself, what would my kids want to do more than anything. answer-waterpark!
I goggled best waterparks in us. there was one listed in san antonio, schlitterbahn- and its a days drive. so we decided to go.
grandma and grandpa also met us there.
we visited sea world and went on some pretty fun roller coasters.
we ate waffles the size of..well...texas ;)
 we went on fun rides

and we loved watching the shows they had at sea world. the kids were seriously impressed

 we wore ourselves out.
2 days at schlitterbahn, a full day in sea world. we actually had tickets to go to the waterpark in sea world, but we were so tired (kids included) we went home a day early. too much fun!

this little lady celebrated her 5th bday in san antonio. she was delighted to have them sing to her.

it really was such a great vacation. i don't think we ever would have picked san antonio as a destination, but i'm so glad we did. lots of great times and good memories!

scout camp out

my hubby is a great guy who supports scouting and his sons wholeheartedly.
he got to go on a campout with out oldest to explore some caves.
they loved the caves.
what they didn't love-80 mph winds that ripped apart tents.
win some/lose some.

girls camp

we spent months planning girls camp, and finally it all came about.
we had a great time. we did a copse course, hiked, swam, rock climbed, ate great food, walked a ton, made snow cones, had a dance party, increased our testimonies and had  great time.
i had some amazing women to work with.

loved being in the mountains with these ladies.
a powerful, wonderful group.

end of school fun

b was happy to have a fun end of school program.
complete with cake and certificates

nothing like relaxing after a busy day of school
family fun day in santa fe
catching tad poles at our friends house.
kids couldn't wait to raise some frogs.
sadly, not one of the tad poles survived

 c's preschool graduation was awesome.
like nothing i've ever seen or been too- complete with the whip/nae nae. really. so awesome.

we visited a local park to find giant foam building blocks. kids had a great time making beds for themselves.
 lunch at costco after building.
anything better?

lots of random pics

i love finding seeing funny things.
this made me laugh. really hard.
anyone who has siblings can totally relate.
i sent it to all of mine ;)
this gal loves to get decked out for crazy hair day.
and nerd day.
this is my little sidekick sitting at one of the many camp meetings i attended.
she was best friends with all the other leaders i met with :)

 having fun playing around

i don't know if my kids will ever get tired of finding and seeing tumbleweeds.
they dragged this up from an arroyo and couldn't wait to show it to me
 sickness toward end of school
sunshine and playing in the water is always a bonus!

fathers and sons/ girls night

the boys had a fathers and sons. the girls were sad. so we had a fun night too.
the boys camped and ate hot dogs, hiked and played around.
the girls went shoe shopping, ate at ihop (they'd never been..), went the mall, rode the carousel and went to orange Julius.
both groups had a great time.
