Quick Update

So... referring back to my previous post.

As I said before, G LOVES to climb. We have had multiple conversations about not climbing on my treadmill- usually 4 times a week.  I tell him that the bottom part, which I fold up when I'm done, if it fell it would crush him-it's that heavy.  I was in the shower last week.  I hear him once again climbing on my treadmill. I hurry to get dressed so I can go down before he hurts himself.  As I open the door to go downstairs, I hear a LOUD crash and than screaming and crying from G.  I run downstairs and see him standing in the cup holders on top of my treadmill, tears streaming down his face.  The bottom part has come down, J's legs are under it and by some feat of nature (or Heavenly Father), it is resting on my exercise ball.
Rewind to earlier that morning when G was playing with my exercise ball.  I asked him to put it behind my treadmill.  Normally I don't mind when he plays with it, in fact when I asked him to put it away, I thought to myself, it's not a big deal, I should have let him play with it.  Fast forward to what could have happened.  J's legs were resting on top of  metal bar that helps the treadmill keep from tipping over.  It would have crushed her legs.  I can't imagine how bad it would have been.

I am so grateful for the little things
that we are inspired to do that keep our little ones safe.

March Madness

I'm not talking basketball. I'm talking this month.
It has been crazy.
We fell off the grid for a bit, but I think we're back.

G has been refusing to nap during the day.
He now resorts to falling asleep on the floor, wherever he is, during his nap time
Meet his dog, Ziggy, he goes everywhere with it!
He tried his hand at artwork-with marker.
I pleaded with him next time to use paper
I took a little photography class by Carolyn,
 I think I need more practice....and a better camera (hint hint C)
We tried to get G to eat 'new food'
As you can see, it didn't go so well
(if anyone has suggestions for PICKY eaters, I'd love to hear it.  This little boy of mine has never eaten pasta, pizza, fries, chicken nuggets-pretty much anything, I'd love some suggestions)

J thinks she has to pull ALL the clothes out of her drawers to get a pair of pants.
It is so funny-she actually cares what she wears. K is 7, and is just now starting to care.
She cracks me up

Maybe I shouldn't put this picture in, but it makes me laugh.
He was suppose to be getting dressed, he got side-tracked and started looking at a book.  He stood there for about 10 minutes with his pants down around his ankles.  It was pretty funny.

This month has been full of messes and mischief.  I know that J and G are conspiring against me.  I can't walk out of room for 2 minutes without returning to it and finding a mess those two have made.  From coloring on the carpet, toilet paper, soap dispenser, to spreading 100's of stickers ALL over the floor, or ransacking the pencil drawer and spreading the contents all over the floor, tipping over lamps, cutting out tiny pieces of paper and spreading them under the table, climbing on top of the tv, re-arranging the metal shelf or helping themselves to food and dumping it all over, it has all happened this month.  In fact, I wonder what they're doing right now....
Do you think it's possible that two and three year olds can plot against you?
It actually makes me laugh to see what they've done next...I'll let you know.

Zoo

We also took a trip to the zoo.
We thought it was going to be a nice sunny day, we threw our jackets on and headed out.
We got there and it was 34 degrees and a bit breezy.
We froze!

We saw this sign AFTER we put the kids on the rhino below....oops!

An ant eater.
G says that we need one of these at our house-as long as they're nice.

G lovin the polar bears

Sesame Street Live

I took our kiddos to see Sesame Street Live.
The kids loved it!
It went a little long, the kids lost interest in it about the last 20 minutes, but they seemed to love it.
I don't know if I could take them that often, but they had fun.

Looking great in her Elmo sweatshirt.

The best part of this whole show was having G on my lap playing the air guitar to the songs they were singing.

We say the darndest things

As a parent, I continually find myself saying things that I even have to chuckle at.  Here are a few that have kept me laughing and thinking to myself, 'am I really saying this out loud'

J, the sink is not a tub
Cereal is for eating, not putting in your nose
The toilet is not a toy
STOP hugging your sister
K said, I'll just leave this food on the floor, J will eat it later
Peanut butter isn't hairspray
Don't eat food from the garbage can, it's garbage (George Costanza can vouch for this one)
How do I get  a bead out of your nose?
Recently we were without a bathroom and G needed one. I pulled his pants down and told him to pee in a diaper.
Don't aim the bow and arrow at the light, aim it at the couch...
No more washing hands!  The sink is closed.

I'd love to hear any of yours.  Happy parenting.
