what do you do when its -15?

we eat lunch at our favorite play place

 visit the eye doc and get awesome shades

 have snack with this cutie

 get in some extra snuggle time 

 wonder if ANYONE thinks this is as funny as I do. 

Amish and Salsa..get it... kinda funny..i'm still laughing

 try to keep sick little boys happy

 watch deer from our back window

 go to our favorite place with even more siblings.

 have breakfast with a dragon.

what do YOU do?

farm show

we visited the farm show. as always, it was pretty enjoyable.

the kids loved the animals.

 c wanted to join them.

 i think this was one of the coolest displays. they had tons of baby chicks. 

 this really neat display was being able to   watch baby chicks hatching

 and of course, the giant butter sculpture. b seems un impressed

it started getting really crowded so we headed out. we went shoe shopping for C, warm klondike derby clothes shopping for K, went to a movie and shopping at costco.

just a glimpse into the everyday...

one of the the small kiddos found scissors and thought it would be fun to cut open applesauce and squeeze it on the toy room carpet. i didn't think it was fun cleaning it up. ;0)

 this was B's bubble family he made on the counter...

 lunch at a favorite play spot.

 pretzels and star wars shirt, hanging out with mom and sister. nothing better.

birthday boy

dad celebrated his 37th birthday.

it was kinda non-eventful. he had to work.

i didn't get him anything because he ordered himself a gun safe and we were planning to get him some running shoes. i did get a sitter the weekend before and went to see the 400th lord of the rings movie. ;) and went to dinner.

we did however drive ALL over his work-for 35 minutes- looking for a needle in a haystack, or his car, to stuff with balloons and put silly spray on. it was a labor of love. J wanted to give up many times. but we didn't. we braved the frigid temps. it was -25. but he is worth it.

he is a great dad and husband. he gives so much of his time. we love him!

 nothing better than carrot cake. mmmmm

we had a great time with friends. 

best thing of the night? 9 pm ball drop. Still in bed by 11. 

nothing says winter like an indoor waterpark!

how i long for warmth.

for sunshine.

for playing outside.

BUT, until I can get that- I will settle for this. an indoor waterpark. so fun.

 we swam, had lunch, tried surfing, went on some slides, played in the wave pool and had  a great time.

this cute kiddo even caught a nap.

 the kids couldn't get enough of the wave pool.

we can't wait to visit again!

I love going to the temple. 

I love going to the temple when it's 70 degrees in december!!! Yipee!!

Kids got to release some energy and explore the temple grounds.

 i took them to the park and let them play for over an hour. 

they were sweating. actual sweat playing outside in normally cold December. can't think of anything better.!

it was a perfect day.
