Zoo America

Saturday was a beautiful day and we didn't know what to do.
Thank you BOONSHOFT pass.
I checked where it was registered and there is a small zoo in hershey that we got into.
The kids had a great time looking at all the animals.
J said her favorite were the snakes (not surprising, she loves creepy things)
G said his were the crocodiles (as long as they were behind glass...)
K was undecided.

buffalo, for all our friends in buffalo :)

J loved watching these wolves.
She was waving at them and saying hi wolves..
Great way to spend a sunny afternoon.

Fathers and Sons

This is where they had Fathers and sons.
It is SO pretty.
The kids still talk about it.
(yes, it really is this green here, it's amazing)

ice cream?

Someone told us about this great ice cream place by our house.
Not only does it have ice cream, BUT they have swing sets and toys to play on.
The kids had a blast.

what we've been up too.... (minus pics)

It always seems that life keeps you running. Some weeks there isn't much going on and then the following week there isn't a minutes break.
Last week was that week for me.
C had something EVERY night last week. Some of them were work shifts, taking K to Scouts, or ward stuff, but it made for a long week. Not to mention me running around like a crazy pregnant lady doing 'mom' stuff.
Friday Night was the Father and Sons Campout-or as G referred to it, 'the boy camp',
and J called it, 'the boys hunt'. Whatever it was called all J knew was that SHE DIDN'T get to go and the BOYS were so EXCITED!
They got all packed up and headed out.
We had some friends over and watched Barbie Rapunzel and ate pizza.
During the viewing, J kept shushing me and the other moms to 'be quiet, I can't hear'.
I took J to breakfast Saturday morning at Cracker Barrel. She loves to EAT. We shared a pancake breakfast. There were 3 pieces of bacon (which she LOVES). I took one, gave her one and left one on the plate. She looked at me and said, 'don't eat that one mom, I want it' She said the same thing about the eggs. It cracked me up. She is SO tiny, and eats like a horse.
The boys made it home on Saturday.
They had a BLAST.
They went canoeing. They caught fish. They slept in a tent (and G was sure to tell me that they got to jump on the air mattresses). They ate hot dogs and smores. They got to shoot guns. A little boys HEAVEN!
It was a success. C said when G caught a fish he went into absolute hysteria. Just screaming, "I caught a FISH! HEY, EVERYONE, I CAUGHT A FISH! I can't believe it" He caught 5 and each time, the same celebration occurred. (I wish I could have been there to see it).
They had SO much fun!
Monday I went to Mother's Day Tea and G's preschool. I thought I was being so smart and took my camera. We got there and it was dead. So, once again, no pics. We had cookies and lemonade. We made crafts- butterflies, planted flowers and made a picture.
We danced the cha-cha and had relays. It was so fun being with him and seeing his excitement.
So much fun spending time with the kids. They are growing so fast and getting so big.

The week of the child

So, this great small town does something for a week that is called 'the week of the child'.
The kids were given a treasure map and told to go to each store on the map and they would be given a prize. Not sure what to expect, we started out. They got some great things. Bubbles, popcorn, ice cream, bouncy balls, bookmarks, frostys, french fries it was great.

G had done a picture for his school and they gave them to local businesses to put in their windows. This was his monster.

so happy to have all their loot, despite all the rain

scissor fun

Lately J has found a love for playing with scissors.
The other day she got to the mail before I knew what had happened (yes, it comes through a mail slot into our house- i love it). She had taken scissors to our deliveries. Luckily she didn't get to anything we needed.... continue cutting away.

oh the dirt

Whoever thought boys were messy and girls were neat and tidy have never met our children.
My boys can stay spotless in a mud pit. J could get dirty on a white sheet.
We met some friends at the park and she got
FILTHY!
She was COVERED in dirt and wood chips.

this is her doing bunny ears to her little friend.

This picture in no way does it justice. Her clothes were filthy. I had to saturate them in spray n' wash and hope for the best. I guess it didn't help that she actually laid down in the dirt (multiple times) and had her friend bury her in dirt and wood chips.
But look at that face, I couldn't even be mad, she had a spectacular time!
