Ricketts Glen

Our family made a visit to Ricketts Glen State park.
It was beautiful.
It's a 3 mile hike and you get to see 21 waterfalls.
The kids did great. J hiked all but about .2 miles. G however got really tired the last mile and C had to carry him. They were great little hikers.

Of course, sticks and rocks had to be picked up along the trail.

Such a fun day.
The only casualty was J's nose.... see post below.

OUCH!

So you may be wondering, didn't G just have a similar wound 2 weeks ago. Oh yes! It's J's turn.
I guess this is what happens when you let a stubborn 3 year old hike on their own after you've offered your hand multiple times.
It didn't slow her down, after wiping tears and giving kisses, she was back on the trail again.
Tough Kiddo.
Poor little nose.

j's hair cut

We got J a little hair cut.
$12- for less than 10 minutes in the chair.
It makes her seem less homeless when she won't let me do it.
I guess I should have gotten a picture of the final product, just a little bob. She was so excited.

signs of spring

These signs of springs are doing my body good.
Who couldn't enjoy seeing these things after them being gone for so long.

GLoRiouS SuNShiNe!

For whatever reason, we have been experiencing some AMAZINGLY great weather.
It has been in the 70's for the past couple weeks,
and the past few days 87 and 89!
It has been GLORIOUS!
We have been taking full advantage of it.
The kids thought it was great pool weather. We tracked down a pool, which was surprisingly difficult, but it is only beginning of April, and we filled it.

J thought it was great to make footprints on the cement.

We have also spent a ton of time at the park soaking up the sun.

I know I'd be dreaming to think it is going to stay this temp, but we will most definitely enjoy while it's here!

He was listening.....

So we all know how it is trying to get across the real meaning of holidays to our kids.
Do they really listen?
The other day the boys were playing webkinz. K then informed G that he had killed all of his webkinz. G went upstairs and came down a few minutes later carrying one of the 'dead' webkinz.
K said, 'G, you can't play with that one, he's dead.'
G then quickly replied, 'No he's not, he's been resurrected.'
Who knew they were really listening...

Easter Festivities

The joy of the hunt..
J, so pleased with her pack of skittles
I think G is actually sorting what he wants and didn't want.
I think the only things that he ended up keeping were the jelly beans.
K excited from his loot...

I think it is so funny that the boys are both fully dressed. They woke up early, around 6 and got all ready to go. I made them wait until J woke up, about 7:20 am, I think I about killed them.

Looking sharp in their Easter duds.
We were actually in Buffalo the week before Easter so the kids got to wear their stuff while visiting dearly missed friends.

And now for their FAVORITE part.
Decorating eggs.
I boiled about 15 eggs. 3 were dropped, but the rest they had fun dying.
This picture was right before G was reaching to put his egg in a color, tipped a tray and TWO cups of dye went all over him (that's why they are all stripped down to their skins).l He started crying, I was frantically trying to scrub him clean-he doesn't like to get dirty until he decided that he looked like an easter egg-then he thought it was great.
