Lucie

Lucie Page

The kids love to come here when we go to Utah.

How does 6 years go by so quickly and yet move so slowly.
Our sweet little Lucie returned to live with our Heavenly Father 6 years ago.
There aren't words to describe the hole that was left in our hearts when she left us and the void that her absence still leaves without her here in our family.
I still miss her everyday.
I always think to myself how can you really miss someone that much, but I do.
I love her. I know she is in better hands. I know she is with our Father in Heaven. I know she watches over us. Most of all, I know that we will see her again.
I find amazing peace and am grateful for this knowledge.
I am indebted to my Heavenly Father for His loving plan.
The day will come when we will hold you in our arms again and our family will be whole. We love and miss you so much!

My sweet friend had this picture done for us.

Thank you to Carly who donates her time and talents to those who have lost a loved one.

You better obey

One fine day after a visit to Palmyra, we took the kids to the Rochester Museum.
We were having a great time in the Berenstein Bears area, when I see my little K man, motioning for me to come over.
I could tell something was a little off.

I get over there and his hand is STUCK. That's right, S-T-U-C-K.

Stuck in this itty bitty hole.
He said he was trying to get the eggs out.
I told him to let go of the egg, he wasn't holding onto one.
I pulled and tugged and it wasn't budging. And yes, there were even a few whimpers of pain.

What to do...

A worker sees us and comes over. She says she better call security.

Now, most moms I know are pretty resourceful, I'm racking my brain at this point. (I keep thinking we don't need security).
And then it hits me-lotion!!!

I pull out my beautifully scented Bath and Body Works lotion, grease up the sides of the hole and his hand and gently pull and out comes his hand. VOILA!

Security still had to be called because of 'the incident'
no harm done.

next time, obey the sign my son.

new beginnings

First day of Pre-K for G.
I debated back and forth because of the amount of time he was gone-EVERYDAY, 2 1/2 hours.

I'm so glad i did it, he absolutely adores it!

Pretty excited for his first day of school

The first day of school is always an array of emotions; uneasiness, excitement, sadness. Uneasy because of the unknown, excitement getting to see a new class, teacher and old friends and sadness because it is the end of summer and freedom.

K was pretty excited to start 2nd grade.

This year, school started SO late in September.
It didn't start until the 9th, I felt like we were halfway through fall by the time they went back.
K is so excited! He really likes his teacher and was actually excited to go back for day 2-never happened before!
Yeah for school!

Labor Day

We had a great labor day.
We started with a hike to Eternal Flame waterfall, always a pleaser for the kids.

Being brave and hiking so hike

After the hike, we had a little picnic/bbq.
It was a little chilly and we got a little rain and had to leave quickly.

We then went to a place called Evangola State Park.
The rain cleared out and it proved to be a very sunshiny afternoon.
G couldn't wait to get in the water

Building beautiful castles.

We hike along the shore line.
The water is amazing. It is SO clear and instead of sand, there is hard rock shale that juts out into the water. They boys, C and J-I mean-older boys, found huge flat rocks that they kept skipping into the water.

The younger boys found great places to hike.

Strolling along the beach.

It was a gorgeous day and we lucked out, at least we thought we did.
We looked out and could see 3 pieces of land in the distance that jutted out into the water.
The further we walked, we noticed one had disappeared behind what appeared to be a quick moving storm. We decided to head back, and no time too soon, the second piece of land was now gone. We started going as quick as we could, pretty soon the third piece had also vanished behind this storm. In less than 5 minutes, we saw the water moving across the water and then we were being pelted by HUGE raindrops. I was carrying J and trying to run in the sand-never a good combo. She was whining and saying the rain was hurting her. I was lucky and spotted a big tupperware bin lid on the sand so I snatched it up and held it over J to help keep the rain from pelting her. The rain was POURING down on us. We finally made it to our -wet, sopping towels and bags, which were now covered in sand, and we headed to our cars. I don't think any of us had ever been that wet, other than when jumping into a lake. My hair and clothes were dripping, I had beautiful streaks of mascara dripping down my cheeks, it was a good laugh.
Clean up was another story.
I tried to wash the sand off of all the wet sopping clothes. I still had a good cup in my washer and dryer. Oh, the wet soppiness, what a mess!

Darien lake

WE LOVE THIS PLACE!
Every once in a while Darien Lake, kinda like 6 flags, does this GREAT deal.
$29 bucks for an entire car load-amazing!
This year we went with some friends.

The kids loved the swings

J and G almost got kicked off because they kept shaking their swings wildly

Cruisin' on the Monster Trucks

The thing I love best about Darien Lake is
The Ride of Steel-it's CRAZY!
It takes you up this steep climb that goes on and on and on. I can never look out because I am terrified of heights and it is so blasted high! After the never ending climb, you plummet for what seems like a short life time. It is a GREAT laugh!

6 kiddos

Some friends of ours went out of town and we watched their kids.
It was great for K, he had two sidekicks to play with all day long!
J loved playing with L. They had a great time.

We took the kids to Niagara Falls.
We got so many looks, people assuming all 6 kids were ours.
One lady walked by and mouthed W-O-W!
Another guy walked by and said, 'now that's a football team.

Here were are walking up the pathway-all kids in tow.
Admiring some spiders

What picture isn't complete without bunny ears?
(especially with boys)

J and Lil- pretty in pink

Where else would they be?

We blew some great bubbles.

And played at this great park in Williamsville.
They LOVED this sand box!

He prefers to call through them, not dangle.

This is how nap time was spent, playing
OREGON TRAIL
For those who aren't familiar with oregon trail, it's a great computer game that yes, I played in 5th grade.
You try to make it to oregon. You buy supplies, hunt, fish, gather berries, trade for supplies all while trying to NOT die of scurvy. The boys LOVE it! We got it on ebay for like 5 bucks, money so well spent!

All 6 kids ready for church
most impressive, we were even early!

It was so fun having them here! Thanks for staying!

DONE!

While I was in Utah, I got a few things done;
Read ALL four of the Twilight Books
Read two disturbing books on Polygamy and people who escaped
Read one John Grisham-The Appeal, my least favorite book of his

I also delivered this baby sling I made-
one for my sis
and one for my sister in law

I got some fabulously fun fabric for some upcoming projects
I can't wait to get started on.

With my mother in laws help, we made these three dresses for J
I LOVE them!
SO SO SO easy!

I am now officially caught up with my Utah trip,
now for the past 2 weeks.

Saying goodbye

The worst part about leaving is saying goodbye to everyone.
It is so great to see everyone and spend time with them, but so hard to say goodbye.

We went and visited my grandma. She was so embarrassed because she didn't have her make up done and she wasn't really dressed yet. She is one sassy little dresser.

J and cousin M.
They are only 6 days apart and had a great time playing together.

J and C
they were quite the little pair.
j really misses cousins.

my cute sis who we miss so much!

we couldn't leave out max.

my parents with the kids and a very unhappy G to be in a picture.

My cute niece J.
She was so cute. We were getting all the kids in the car. She came running out crying. She was so sad because we didn't get a picture with her. She and K are 6 weeks apart. We miss her so much. She is such a sweet little girl.

The cute friends we stay with-this is the morning we flew home.
We really miss them.
The kids loved staying with them and playing with them.

4-Wheelin'

Last year we went to Bear Lake and C's oldest brother, brought this up, it's a Rhino and G hasn't stopped talking about it.
They were so excited to take it for a spin.

The kids giving me the thumbs up.
I love's J's. She couldn't quite figure out how to do it, so she put up her first finger. too cute.

J on with Grandma and Grandpa.
That helmet weighed more than she did.

Up in the mountains!

K was on with Brod.
they went through this water the first time. Brod asked K if he wanted to stay dry and go slow, or go fast and get wet. He said get wet. He floored it and the water completely engulfed them. they were soaked. So fun.

Little picnic in the back of the rhino
Hanging out with grandma

C and two of his friends did an overnight biking trip to moab.
I'm so glad he got to go. He misses it so much.
They had a great time!
