4 months old

How is our little B already 4 months old!
The time goes by so fast.

Here are some things about B at 4 months old.
He weighs 14 lbs. 4 oz and is 25 inches long.

He is SO smiley! AND loves to make spit bubbles (please notice his chin)
He is such a happy little guy!
He has cute little soft brown hair

He loves to look at and examine his hands. It is so cute!
He has rolled over once, front to back.. and yes, I missed it. K had put him on his belly and my back was toward him and he rolled over. I put him on his belly again, and he did it again, but I missed his first time rolling over. I wonder how is that is even possible. I am with him all day everyday, and the one time K has him, he rolls over. GGrrrrr.
He loves his brothers and sister. When he is in the room alone, he starts crying-he knows when he's alone.
He is such a sweet little man. We just LOVE him!

a cozy spot

Do you have a favorite spot you like to visit when it's cold and you want to warm up?

J does!

She loves laying on the radiator when it's warm!
Nothing's better than a cozy spot when it's cold outside!

Mickey's Magic Show

Mickey's Magic show was coming to a city near us, we got great deals on tickets, so we decided to go. The day of the show came and J had an ear infection and K had a fever, but tickets were non-refundable, so we gave them ibuprofen and headed out.

It was actually pretty entertaining.
There were a couple magic tricks, that when they finish you really wonder HOW they did it.

At intermission I was sitting there with the boys. Next thing i know, the lady sitting in front of my is asking if G can have a piece of licorice, that he was holding in his hand. I looked at her, kinda puzzled, and she said, 'oh, he asked if he could have one'
What do I say? He's already holding it.
OH to have a hold to crawl in.
In his defense, he does LOVE licorice.

I took a ton of pics, NONE of them turned out.
Oh well, at least we have some documentation.

Does anyone else think this is so funny?

The Childproof Life (by Robert G. Lee)
When I was a kid, we didn't have padding under our jungle gyms. We had rocks.
We didn't have safety belts on our swing sets. The whole goal was to get as high as you could, then launch yourself into the stratosphere. We rode our bikes without helmets. Without shoes. Sometimes without clothes.
We played in creeks, ran through abandoned houses, when dam sliding, jumped on trampolines, ran our go-karts straight into oncoming traffic, and played with BB guns, with half the time spent pumping them up 'cause we'd heart you could take out an eye.
We parachuted out of trees with bed sheets, threw lawn darts at each other, and had no sunblock, so we got burned to a crisp. Summer officially started when the first kid turned as red as a thermometer. Then we had peeling parties.
We blew up Barbie dolls with M-80's, we ran with scissors, and our Halloween costumes were made of asbestos.
But for our safety, our moms made us wait an hour after we ate before we went swimming.

I found this funny article in the september reader's digest. It summed up my childhood exactly! We would roam for hours, playing in the creek, building forts, playing flashlight wars at night, you name it- half the time my parents didn't have a clue where we were. But one year at Bear Lake, I remember my parents having us wait to go swimming because we had just eaten.

WHAT A MESS!!!!

Unfortunately this mess had nothing to do with my kids.
It was 100% my doing!
It's was a whopper!

I needed to make bread. I filled my wheat grinder and turned it on.
I left the room and started working out.
I could hear it was working fine, J kept running in saying, Mom, the kitchen is a mess! Admittedly, it does make a mess when I grind wheat so I was unconcerned.
I heard the wheat grinder finish, and went into turn it off.
I walked into the kitchen.
I couldn't believe my eyes. The grinder was throwing flower ALL over the kitchen. The entire room was filled with powder, and EVERY SINGLE SURFACE was covered in fine powder.

These are pictures of the counter where I had things sitting.

This one is my favorite, a perfect outline of a pen.
I am not kidding, I have never had a bigger mess to clean up. It even drifted into the next room and there was flour powder everywhere.

I have learned my lesson. Next time listen to the 4 year old when she tells you things are a mess!

Halloween Happenings

Our Halloween summed up;
We never made it to a pumpkin patch. We were out of town in Utah, then Buffalo, and we never made it to one. We were going to take the kids on Saturday, but it was freezing!
We took them to this market that has tons of different pumpkins, does that count?
We picked our pumpkins at Walmart. nice. G was so mad.

These little beauties, I adored

Friday before Halloween, we went to a ward barn party. It was pretty fun. And cold. I dressed up like a witch, C was sporting a great dracula costume. Unfortunately, my camera was dead so no pics! C was unrecognizable. Really, it was great!

Saturday we went to a ward trunk or treat. It too was fun.
G was mad about something in this picture, I think he was looking for a plastic bat and couldn't find it. I love that J wanted to be a pirate. She had 3 princess dresses to choose from and she went with the pirate. K was a ninja (after much deliberating at a costume store), G also bought a ninja costume (I think to be like his brother), but ended up as a toasty dinosaur.
We went trick or treating after. Oh yes, here where we live, they changed the holiday for trick or treating on Saturday, how great is that?!
Ah, the fruits of their labors.
In keeping with tradition, G once again, gave up on trick or treating about 10 houses in. He was running to every door, so excited, I thought to myself, maybe this is the year he will stick with it. Oh no, 10 houses later, he collapsed on the grass announcing he was done and wanted no more candy. C took him to the car where he happily sat. I love this boy!
Cleaning the guts.
J was so focused
Once again, K was not loving the cleaning of the pumpkins. He kept wanting to get plastic gloves on. I told him no way and made him keep going, until he petered out and I finished the job for him.

Happy carving
i love that J put glitter stickers on her pumpkin. a little bedazzling never hurt anyone, right!
It was a fabulous Halloween.
Bring on the turkey!

my friends sealing

We recently took a trip back to Buffalo to go to our friends sealing, they just adopted a baby.
This was the drive on our way there, it was amazing!

This is their little girl chasing J
Their whole family, all in white
The boys posing outside the temple

The kids were ALL so excited to go back to buffalo and see their friends. We stayed with some friends of ours and it was great to catch up.
Being at the sealing was one of the sweetest things I have attended. It is so amazing to know that families are forever. I feel so happy and blessed to have that knowledge.
It was the perfect day!
