and so it begins

like so many others, the  kids started school today.
what a mix of emotions, i think more for me, than for them.
J was jumping out of her skin she was so excited!
G was actually pretty okay. I was waiting for a major meltdown, but, hold your breathe, it didn't happen. I was so proud of him.
 He doesn't like change.
K was a little nervous and a little excited.
They did great.
I was so sad to see them go back to school. I love having them home and just being with them and enjoying their personalities!
B couldn't miss being in the pic
This pic cracks me up. J didn't even give me  a backwards glance, not even a peek over the shoulder. G was  a little more hesitant.
I had to holler to j to wait for g.
She's been ready for 2 years!
This was day two of school, G didn't not, absolutely never want to be in this pic. (I got him anyway)
I had to get a pic of their shoes.
They all got what they wanted.
K wanted these squiggly nike, J wanted twinkle toes, and G got light up 3-D dino shoes (b has matching ones).
They were super excited!
As most moms, I just worry about them.

I hope that they will make right choices.
I hope they will choose good friends.
I hope they will stick up for others.
I hope they will succeed.
I hope they will have confidence.
I hope they will be kind to others.
I hope they will remember they are NEVER alone.
I hope they know how much they are loved.

I hope I have taught them well enough to have these things embedded in their ready to learn heads.

the LAST hoorah of summer

Really, this was our last hoorah of summer. C took the older kids camping Friday night and i came up with the two babes Saturday morning, and we hit the lake and their beach. Just as a preface, it was COLD. C-O-L-D, cold!
I don't know if I have ever felt water like this. It made your ski burn when you got in. I don't know if you ever really got used to it, I didn't stay in that long.

B had a great time playing in the water and sand.
 So did this little mermaid
This was K's first attempt in, it was COLD. He did actually end up diving in, one brave soul
 G was snorkeling all around
J liked to make sand angels

even this sweet girl enjoyed the beach
the start of an epic water fight

The kids had a great time!

even the mennonite ladies took a little dip with their feet

Goodbye summer!
We have enjoyed having you!
Come visit us again, SOON!

lego heaven

This week i will re-claim my table.
it has not been in my possession for the past 6 weeks.
yep folks, 6 weeks.
we have been crammed around and sitting/ and lets be honest, standing at our kitchen counter for every meal.
no more.
it will no longer be the lego table as G loves to refer to it as.
it will once again be called the DINING room table.
Dining being the key word.
it will be nice to have you back.

sports plex

So, after living in a small town for 2 years, you'd think i'd know every square inch. well, turns out, i don't. there is a great little gymnastics/sports center that does a free play once  a week. we had never been, and,  once again, wanted to hit it up before the end of school.

The kids had a great time. well, except for b that is.

G was diving into the foam pit. i love the hands.

Baby C was hysterical. She was crawling in fast forward. she was laughing, standing up, clapping, she kept going over to the ball pit and trying to lower herself down into it. (about 1 1/2 feet drop). then she would climb up these big foam wedges and drop down the other side. she had a great time.
b was crawling along with baby c.
j had  a great time on the balance beam

 this baby girl was fearless!

 b not so impressed

still, not loving it. finally went and sat down on a bench and ate cheerios.

 such a fun day!
we tried to go to a local splash park, it was closed. drat!
so we pulled out our slip and slide and had a blast.

please dont end summer. please.

skate park

What summer would be complete without one more trip to the skate park. G was SO happy

The kids loved wading in this stream. We got some questionable looks, so we had them get out, i guess even in PA some things 'aren't okay'
B loved catching a ride with dad

the kids loved testing their climbing ability on the rocks

C loved being in the swing!
ended the evening with a homemade waffle cone and delicious ice cream from a local ice cream shop!

walks

One thing we love to do is to go for walks as a family. There is a great place right by our house that we love to walk to.
i kept trying to get pics of this little guy, could only get his back side
 the kids loved this butterfly!
this little one loves just being there for all the excitement!

 Love these 3 little musketeers!

great end to a sunday
